Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art on Paper
Rachel Wales operates a private conservation service dedicated to paper-based items such as prints and drawings, photographs,
watercolours, and archival materials.
Having trained as a Master of Art Conservation at
Queen's University (Canada) and with over ten years' work experience
in the field, Ms. Wales offers a broad range of conservation services to
clients in Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, and Monmouthshire.
Typical treatments include;
- Reduction of staining from old sticky tapes on drawings and maps
- Removal of acidic backing boards from watercolours
- Mending of torn and damaged papers
- Chemical stabilisation of acidic paper.
All work is undertaken on an hourly rate. Initial consultation,
condition reports and treatment proposals are free of charge.
